Battle Boards

Compact, versatile, and the perfect way to run engaging encounters for your tabletop group!

Using Boards

Regardless of the game system, if your TTRPG uses a square grid, a battle board is flexible enough to accommodate combat in outdoor encounters, dungeon crawls, or cave exploration - without feeling like your players are fighting in the same location every time.

  • Each tile is a 1.25 inch square. In game systems where this represents 5ft, a board is 65ft from edge to edge - plenty of room for combat and terrain. Large boards have a fuller radius and a outer ring.

  • For creatures approaching from a distance, attacking at range, or behind cover at the edges of combat, boards can be designed with an outer ring. Treat the outer ring as a full movement action away from the grid.

  • Center the action on your party - whether it’s combat or the layout of a dungeon as they roam through it. 18” boards create a 30ft radius around the center tile - perfect for representing visibility with torchlight.

  • Each tile has a strong magnet in the center, so terrain and minis won’t slide around as you play. This allows you to prep boards before putting them on the table, for the perfect encounter reveal every time.

Set the scene for engaging combat

Just a few columns, trees, and crates can go a long way to create dynamic and interesting encounters that feel immersive for your players to interact with during combat. But terrain can take up a lot of space and look boring on the same dry-erase grid each encounter.

Battle Boards are hand-crafted and painted backdrops that create convincing castle halls, city streets, cave systems and sprawling dungeons just by swapping out a handful of small terrain pieces.
